Job Role Summary

The Licensed Clinician performs a variety of individual, family and group therapeutic interventions, and is familiar with best practices for a variety of client populations. This position manages a caseload of clients by identifying therapeutic, rehabilitative and case management needs, engaging other team members in meeting these needs as indicated.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Completes biopsychosocial evaluation (BPSE), integrating information gathered by the team and developing the integrated diagnostic summary; based upon the BPSE and in consultation with the treatment team, prepares Clinical Treatment plans, dates the treatment plan at intervals determined by guidelines; consults with client, family and treatment team throughout the process
  • Manages a caseload of clients by identifying therapeutic, rehabilitative and case management needs; engages other team members in meeting these needs as indicated; provides quality case management services as indicated by client need; monitors client progress and reflects this in the clinical documentation
  • Performs a variety of individual, family and group therapeutic interventions, and is familiar with best practices for a variety of client populations
  • Evaluates and updates the treatment plan at intervals determined by guidelines, consulting with client family and team in this process
  • Advocates for clients to ensure access to needed services which include developing community relationships and resources
  • Meets agency standards of timely completion of all documentation
  • Meets agency standards of client service hours
  • Identifies any high- risk client symptoms or circumstances that would result in risk for self-harm or harm to others and notifies appropriate higher level clinical staff for consultation
  • Continuously evaluates clients' mental status, reporting progress to the team and treating psychiatrist
  • Identifies community resources and assists clients in their access to these resources
  • Proactively organizes community groups and facilitates the development of community resources and advocates for clients with policy makers
  • Provides indirect service to external agencies and community through consultation and education
  • Interprets and applies service and billing procedures according to client needs; completes billing according to guidelines for timeliness and accuracy
  • Alters activities and behaviors to reflect and ensure adequate care which is appropriate to the age of the clients served
  • Serves as a clinical resource for less experienced staff
  • Demonstrates commitment to professional growth by actively participating in clinical supervision

Job Requirements

  • Master's degree in Human Services and licensed (LCSW, LMFT, LMHC)
  • Valid Indiana driver's license that meets Eskenazi Health's driving policy requirements
  • All staff working with clients from the Department of Child Services will be required to be fingerprinted and have a criminal background check performed upon hire and periodically thereafter
  • All individuals working for the Opioid Treatment Program must have one of the following FSSA/DMHA-approved credentials for Clinicians providing counseling with an OTP:
    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
    • Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT)
    • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
    • Certified Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADAC) II
    • Certified Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADAC) IV
    • Indiana Certified Addiction Counselor (ICAC) I
    • Indiana Certified Addiction Counselor (ICAC) II
    • Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with Medication Assisted Treatment Specialist (MATS)
    • Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCAC)
    • Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC)
    • Master Addiction Counselor (MAC)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Opportunity Information

Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

ReVIDA Recovery is seeking Licensed Professional Counselors to join our team providing outpatient counseling to patients with opioid use disorder. The LPC is a critical member of the larger multidisciplinary clinical team.

The LPC will be in charge of assisting patients through the outpatient treatment process and providing individualized substance use counseling and other therapeutic interventions, as needed for individuals with a primary diagnosis of opioid use disorder. The LPC conducts individual counseling sessions and group therapy sessions utilizing the Stages of Change, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral approaches. The LPC will build the comprehensive treatment plan for the patient, evaluate patients’ progress during counseling, and collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to assist the patients’ achieving the overall outcome.

  • Tennessee LPC license required (LPC with MHSP preferred)
  • Experience working with substance use disorders and, specifically, opioid use disorders preferred
  • Knowledge and support of Harm Reduction as an evidence-based practice critical
