We welcomed our first students in 1916, which makes KCU one of the nation's founding colleges of osteopathic medicine.
We've been on the forefront of health care ever since. Were constantly creating new programs such as the Clinical Psychology Doctoral program, an MS in biomedical science, specialized dual degrees and a College of Dental Medicine (opens in Joplin in 2023). And we're continually renewing our commitment to research and our communities, most notably with our recent campus opening in Joplin.
About the Community
A private university comprised of a College of Osteopathic Medicine, founded in 1916, and a College of Biosciences, Kansas City University is the oldest medical school in Kansas City, Mo., and the largest in Missouri.
Kansas City University has a campus in Kansas City, Missouri and Joplin, Missouri.
The Joplin campus opened in 2016 and was the first new Medical School in nearly 50 years. The strength of our university is rooted in our talented group of people and our shared sense of purpose.
