PLAINS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
Plains Memorial Hospital is a 17 bed Critical Access Hospital. We offer a full-service lab, radiology, CT scanner, MRI weekly, ultrasound, physical, speech and occupational therapy as well as aquatic therapy. We operate the EMS service from the hospital. The hospital was renovated in 2014. We just recently completed a Cerner implementation for the clinic, hospital, and ER EMR.
MEDICAL CENTER OF DIMMITT
The clinic was built in 2007 and is attached to the hospital. Each provider has their own nurse and 2-3 exam rooms. Each provider averages 10-17 patients per day and is required to work one Saturday morning per month when on ER call.
About the Community
The Castro County Hospital District (CCHD) is located in Dimmitt, TX which is in the panhandle of Texas. Castro County has a population of 8,000 and has a service draw of 15,000. Dimmitt is a rural community with farming, ranching and dairies being the main source of income. Life is very quiet and revolves around school and church. Dimmitt is 65 miles SW of Amarillo and 85 miles NW of Lubbock. Palo Duro Canyon is one hour away and ware are four hours from the New Mexico mountains. You can visit our website at plainsmemorial.com.
