Recruiting for an experienced PA or NP to join our growing cardiothoracic and vascular surgical practice in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Qualified Candidates:

Surgical first assisting, with open-heart cases, vascular, and thoracic (adult only)
Pre and post-op patient management
ICU and floor coverage
General peri-surgical procedures
Admitting transfers, (from outside facilities and ER), and consultations
Rotating weekday, weeknight, and weekend shift rotation coverage (night and weekend shifts, shared equally)
Part of the night and weekend shifts may be off-site, (as call coverage), unless direct medical or surgical patient care is required
Cardiac surgery and/or OR endoscopic vein harvesting experience preferred, but willing to train
Ideal candidate should be flexible, affable, creative, energetic, compassionate, and a team player
Must have excellent interpersonal skills to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, physicians and administration

About the Practice:

Well-established high volume program comprised of six surgeons, (3 cardiac, 1 thoracic, and 2 vascular), and a dedicated team of APPs. The APP team works with a high level of autonomy supported by the cardiac surgeons.

The program performs a comprehensive spectrum of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery services including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair and replacement, complex aortic surgery, endovascular treatment of aneurysms, minimally invasive cardiac valvular surgical procedures (including TAVRs), arrhythmia surgery, as well as advanced heart failure treatments, including ECMO and VADs. Additionally, the practice performs VATS lung and pleural surgery. The physicians participate in a mature and growing Structural Heart and Advanced Valve Care Center and play an active role in TAVR, MitraClip, and other structural heart procedures.
