Norton Heart Specialists, a part of Norton Heart & Vascular Institute in Louisville, Kentucky, is recruiting for an additional womens heart health cardiologist. The candidate will be given the opportunity to expand an existing womens heart and vascular program with a growing patient population. This physician will join the areas largest collaborative cardiology practice, with 35 board-certified cardiologists and 20 advanced practice providers. Norton Heart & Vascular Institute maintains more than 52 percent of the total cardiovascular market share, more than any other health care provider in our service area. A strong network of referrals is in place through Norton Medical Group, which employs more than 1,800 providers, including nearly 300 primary care providers.

Nocturnist Advanced Practice Providers in place to take first call and manage the calls coming from the IP unit at night

Womens Heart Program The Norton Heart & Vascular Institute Womens Heart Program is a part of the complete range of services Norton Womens Care offers in Greater Louisville with an emphasis on caring for the whole woman mind, body and spirit. Services focus on the health and wellness of women at all stages of life adolescence, pregnancy, motherhood, midlife and beyond. Norton Womens Care specialty services include full gynecologic care; a pelvic health program; obstetrics, including high-risk pregnancy care; newborn care with access to Level III and IV neonatal intensive care units; cancer prevention and treatment, including a comprehensive breast health program; a womens heart program; a bone health program addressing osteoporosis, rheumatology and prevention of other orthopedic diseases; and Norton Womens Mental Health Services for evaluation and treatment of issues including depression, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, infertility and menopause. As a community partner of the American Heart Associations Go Red For Women movement, Norton Heart & Vascular Institute is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of heart disease in women. Active programming includes support groups for women living with heart disease; Circle of Hearts, a free heart health education class series; tai chi classes for heart health; HeartStrings education program for new moms with heart disease risk factors; and more. The Norton Heart & Vascular Institute Resource Center offers heart-healthy lifestyle consultations with a cardiac nurse, A-fib and heart failure education workshops, and free cooking classes tailored to those living with heart disease. These offerings play a large role to support women in the community who seek care.
Many of the heart and vascular support resources for women are offered at the Marshall Womens Health & Education Center on the Norton Healthcare St. Matthews campus, where Norton Womens & Childrens Hospital is located. The hospital is a full-service, 373-bed community hospital offering inpatient and outpatient medical/surgical care, full diagnostic services and 24-hour emergency care for men, women and children. Norton Womens & Childrens Hospital specializes in comprehensive cancer prevention, detection and treatment; orthopedics and bone health; pelvic health services; migraine treatment; breast health diagnostics; and surgical weight loss services. For children, the hospital offers pediatric surgery; inpatient care, including a 44- bed Level III neonatal intensive care unit, a sleep center, a rehabilitation center and pediatric emergency services; plus specialized care for pediatric urology and gynecology patients.
