We are currently seeking an experienced Program Director for a developing Neurology residency program planned to start in academic year 2022-2023. This follows on the heels of four successful residency programs that have already started in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Transitional Year.Our hospital has three additional programs pending accreditation from ACGME in Urology, Anesthesiology, and Psychiatry.

As the Founding Program Director, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to build the program from the ground up. The intent will be to have 4 residents per year for a total of 12 residents as part of a Neurology program. Through the establishment this residency program the estimated growth of Neurology cases is expected to increase due to the catchment area and fewer cases out-migrating to large metropolitan communities. The Director would have an appointment with a local medical school.

The Program Director works collaboratively with physician leaders, administration, and staff to improve clinical outcomes. The Program Director must dedicate at least 70 percent of his or her time to program administration, evaluation, teaching, resident precepting, and scholarship. In addition, the Program Director is also required to spend additional time in direct patient care, without the presence of the residents.

Salary and academic rank for this position will be commensurate with the applicant's experience and academic background.

Professional Qualifications/Experience
- Five (5) years' experience as a practicing Neurology Physician.
- Three (3) years' documented educational and/or administrative experience as a faculty member in an ACGME-accredited Neurology Residency Program.
- Demonstrated leadership in teaching; experience in community-engaged health care research.
- Demonstrated instructional and presentation skills.
- Current ACLS and BLS
