Certified Respiratory Therapist

Job Description: Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. Participates in all aspects of RC educational activities and departmental meetings. Documents and maintains records, charts and reports in a timely and accurate manner. Performs all procedures according to policy and procedure. Organizes workload to ensure therapy is completed as prescribed. Responds to all Medical Alerts in a timely manner and documents appropriately. Performs Pulmonary Functions, EKG ,EEG, Holter Monitor and Stress Test. Exercises sound clinical judgment and assessment skills to provide for appropriate provision of patient care and monitoring and communication of information to other caregivers. Evaluates patient care and makes recommendations when needed. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Education/Training:

Associate in Respiratory Care or 1 year certification program.
Zero to less than 1 year of experience in Respiratory Care.
Participation in the National Board for Respiratory Care's (NBRC) Continuing Competency Program to maintain credential if received credential after July 1, 2002.
Licenses and/or Certifications:

Certified Respiratory Therapist or new graduate. New graduate has 3 months to obtain CRT after hire and/or graduation date.
Respiratory Care Practitioner by the SC Board of Medical Examiners.
BLS certification.
ACLS certification completed within 3 months of hire.
PALS certification completed within 6 months of hire.
NRP certification completed within 6 months of hire.

Organizes workload to ensure therapy is completed as proscribed. Participates in all aspects of RC educational activities & departmental meetings. Documents & maintains records, charts and reports in a timely manner & documents appropriately. Responds to all Medical Alerts in a timely manner & documents appropriately. Exercises sound clinical judgement & assessment skills to provide appropriate provision of patient care & monitoring & communication of information to other caregivers. Evaluates patient care & makes recommendations when needed. Performs Pulmonary Functions, EKG EEG, Holter Monitor and Stress Test. Performs all other duties as assigned.
