Job Description

Ochsner Health in New Orleans is searching for a Pediatric Electrophysiologist to join an active, full service congenital EP team. This opportunity is made available as a current member of the team advances to an executive level position.

The EP team is comprised of two experienced pediatric electrophysiologists working in concert with an adult EP team of 6 electrophysiologists. Approximately 220 invasive congenital EP case are done yearly in four state-of-the-art EP labs.

The congenital EP service is an integral part of our nationally ranked congenital cardiac team that includes 15 pediatric/congenital cardiologists, three congenital cardiac surgeons and is aligned with the John Ochsner Heart and Vascular Institute, providing comprehensive, integrated care from fetus to adulthood.

The successful candidate will be skilled in outpatient and inpatient congenital electrophysiology and in advanced catheter mapping and ablation techniques. Experience and interest with device implantation and management and a record of academic achievement would be highly regarded. Ample teaching opportunities are available with an on-site pediatric residency and three medical school affiliations. Board certified/eligible in Pediatric cardiology is required.

The Department of Pediatrics and our pediatric subspecialists (collectively, Ochsner Hospital for Children) represent over 140 providers and is growing rapidly. We offer a full range of pediatric care from primary to quaternary care, with services offered in all subspecialties including advanced gastroenterology/hepatology, orthopedic surgery, oncology and heart, liver and bone marrow transplant.

Our pediatric subspecialties include: Allergy, Cardiology Critical Care Medicine, Cardiac and Congenital Heart Surgery, Dermatology, ENT, Endocrinology, Emergency Medicine, Gastroenterology, Hematology/Oncology, Hospital Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Medical Genetics, Neonatology, Nephrology/Hypertension, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology/Optometry, Orthopedics, Palliative Care, Psychiatry/Sports Medicine, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Psychiatry, Pulmonology, General Surgery, Transplant, and Urology. We also have a Pediatric Anesthesiology Team, Pediatric CV Surgery Anesthesia Team and Pediatric Radiology. We support a pediatric heart failure program, including left ventricular assist devices and transplantation and have a pediatric transcatheter valve program. We utilize a 44-bed pediatric unit, 14 bed PICU and a 12 bed CVICU with in-house intensivists as well as a dedicated, full-time, region-wide pediatric transport team.
