Job Description

The position is an Active Duty Air Force Officer position, practicing as an Anesthesiologist at a Military Treatment Facilities. This is a direct hire position with full compensation, competitive pay, and benefits.
Initial requirements are listed below.

Qualification Basics

-U.S. Citizenship (No waivers)
-18-48 years of age. (Can be waived for older applicants)
-Pass a medical evaluation for military service
-Applicants must have current, valid, and unrestricted state medical license to submit an application (Interviewer will explain.)

Education & Training Requirements

-Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an approved school for allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine.

-Completed a residency in family practice or board certification by either the American Board of Family Practice or the Advisory Board of Osteopathic Specialties

Graduate Medical Education (GME).

Applicants must be in the final year OR have completed a US residency and/or fellowship accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education in the specialty to which applying.

Board Certification.

Board certification in the specialty in which applying is required. In a few instances, such as residents in their final year of residency training, this requirement may be waived.

Work Experience.

Applicants must have at least one year of active practice in their specialty within the last two years. In a few instances, such as residents in their final year of residency training, this requirement may be waived. Residents in their final year of residency training may have certain requirements waived that are either not possible (e.g., board certification) or not routinely accomplished by physicians at this stage of training (e.g., independent DEA license).

*If selected, you will complete a 5.5-week Commissioned Officer training course where you will receive professional leadership training.
