Dietitian collaborates with members of the health care team to provide high quality medical nutrition therapy to patients and clients of all ages by assessing, developing a care plan, monitoring and evaluating care of those identified to be at nutrition risk. Provide nutrition education to patients and members of the health care team in assigned areas. The dietitian contributes to the health care team expertise in nutritional assessment, nutritional recommendations, physical assessment for malnutrition and education. Communicates effectively and fosters continuity of care for patients and clients. Actively maintains professional development and competencies related to assigned areas. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers and others.
Ideal candidate will serve as a Clinical Dietitian in our Nutrition Services Department. This position is utilized by the Nutrition Services Staff, the Virginia Care Center, the Diabetes Center, outpatient appointments, community outreach as well as patient education.
Schedule would be a flexible day position.
Benefit eligible as a 0.6 FTE employee
QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements):
Education and/or experience required:
Bachelors degree in food, nutrition or dietetics
Registered or registry-eligible with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association.
Upon completion of 90 days of employment must be able to pass the competency test related to nutrition order writing privileges.
