About the job:
Full-time position available in our 34-bed geriatric inpatient psychiatry unit at Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford, a full service community hospital 7 miles north of Boston. The geriatric psychiatry program includes both open and secure units. The adult geriatric unit is part of MelroseWakefield Healthcare's comprehensive behavioral health services that includes an adult unit at Melrose Wakefield Hospital, ECT and Community Counseling services in Malden and Medford.

We offer a full range of treatment options to ensure that patients are matched with the appropriate level of care. Expert geriatric psychiatrists lead multidisciplinary teams that help patients reach their optimal level of functioning.
Located at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, the Medical-Psychiatric program is the longest running program of its kind in the state of Massachusetts. The Medical-Psychiatric inpatient unit specializes in providing evaluation and treatment of psychiatric disorders in the geriatric population, often complicated by acute/chronic medical problems. Common reasons for admission include late-life depression, psychosis, bipolar disorder, delirium and dementia-related behavioral disturbances. The program combines the expertise of psychiatrists, internists, psychiatric and medical nurses, social workers and occupational therapists to create a comprehensive treatment plan. The team also utilizes the consultation of medical and surgical subspecialties, neurology, neuropsychology, physical therapy, speech therapy and nutrition.
