Job Description

Palliative Medicine and Hospice Opportunity:

Mercy Health Physicians Youngstown is seeking a motivated and capable board eligible or board certified Palliative Medicine & Hospice physician. The fulltime position is immediately available and is well suited for an individual that is equally passionate about Palliative Medicine and who desires to be involved with our growing service. This position entails a clinical Palliative Medicine focus with a mixture of inpatient and outpatient coverage.
Mercy Health Palliative Medicine Program was established in 2010. Our Palliative Medicine & Hospice department is comprised of a fulltime Medical Director, 1 fulltime Physician, several contracted physicians, 5 Advance Practice Nurses, 1 Program Manager, 1 Registered Nurse and 2 Social Workers. We currently provide inpatient consultation to three Hospitals in the Mercy Youngstown system and operate two Outpatient Clinics and are well supported by the Mercy Medical Staff and neighboring communities.
Many of our current providers also are involved in caring for patients who elect their Medicare Hospice Benefit through our affiliation with Hospice of the Valley. Hospice of the Valley, a subsidiary of Mercy Health, has served the community since 1979 as the largest, non-profit hospice provider in the area. Hospice of the Valley maintains a census of 280-300 patients per day, including a 16 bed Inpatient facility and has also expanded beyond the three Ohio counties to serve three adjacent counties in Pennsylvania. This continuum of care allows for a seamless transition for many of the patients we are blessed to provide care for during their time of need.
This is an employment opportunity. Highly completive salary, relocation and benefit package, 403B, retirement, potential sign on bonus, medical education loan repayment and other benefits.
