Chief, Department of Urology at ZSFG UCSF School of Medicine Department of Urology Department of Urology at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital In Residence, Clinical X or HS Clinical Series The Department of Urology at the University of California, San Francisco, is recruiting for the next Service Chief of the Department of Urology at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG). Appointments will be made at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank of the Clinical X, in Residence, or Health Sciences (HS) Clinical series. Academic rank is commensurate with experience. Department of Urology at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG) The Department of Urology at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG) is a dynamic group of 8 faculty members dedicated to patient care, health equity, scholarship, and medical education. ZSFG is the public hospital and trauma center for the city and county of San Francisco and provides world class care regardless of ability to pay or immigration status. Chief, Department of Urology at ZSFG The Department Chief will lead the clinical, educational, and research missions of the Department at ZSFG; manage hiring, supervision, and mentorship of faculty and administrative staff. The Service Chief must articulate the goals of the service, advocate for the service in pursuit of these goals, foster a professional climate that is collegial and respectful, and encourage faculty engagement and innovation. The successful candidate will oversee GME and UME activities and act as steward for the Department’s financial resources. The Service Chief of Urology for ZSFG is responsible for all clinical, administrative, financial, quality improvement, and academic oversight of the Department. The Service Chief at ZSFG will partner with other department leadership to deliver superlative care to the residents of San Francisco. Minimum Qualifications: Medical Degree; California Medical License (or eligibility); Board Certification in Urology; A demonstrated commitment to urban underserved urology patients; Demonstrated skills in collaborative teamwork with a successful track record in leadership; and Experience working with, and supervising, residents and medical students in a clinical setting. Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual (particularly in Spanish); Expertise in stone disease or urologic trauma; Quality improvement experience and training; and Prior experience with change management and leading administrative projects. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $142,800-$377,200. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
