Johns Hopkins Medicine Surgical Co-Director Heart and Vascular Service Line The Department of Surgery and Johns Hopkins Medicine are excited to announce an opportunity for an accomplished and engaged surgeon leader as the Co-Director of its Heart and Vascular Service Line. This surgeon will serve in a collaborative role with the Chief of Cardiology to establish and direct the newly established Heart and Vascular Service Line inclusive of inpatient/ambulatory cardiology and cardiac surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Suburban Hospital and all other affiliated inpatient and ambulatory JHM sites. Reporting to its HVI Oversight Committee, the HVI is intended to provide a more integrated patient experience, while contributing to clinical efficiencies, performance improvement, developing effective educational and clinical research programs and expansion/ integration of clinical areas with high market demand. Qualifications: Qualified candidates must show competency in strategic leadership of cardiovascular programs with specific emphasis on multidisciplinary teambuilding across disciplines; preferred candidates will also have an active role and experience in the leadership and care of complex surgical patients including adult cardiac surgery, aortic open and endovascular procedures, transcatheter valvular procedures (TAVR) and other adult cardiac surgical procedures. Candidates must hold an MD or equivalent degree and be eligible for licensure in Maryland and be board certified in cardiac surgery. Advanced leadership and clinical experience is preferred.
