This is an outstanding opportunity for another member to join our team in providing care to patients in all three facets of Acute Care Surgery. We are currently adding Physicians to two programs: Geisinger Medical Center and Geisinger Northeast ( Scranton & Wilkes Barre team) Both programs offer: • In addition to providing coverage of the trauma service and surgical critical care, there is an active emergency general surgery service, with dedicated OR time • Our Trauma dept includes a team of Critical Care Trauma Surgeons and a team of Physician Assistants assisting with the care of the patients in both the inpatient setting, and in the trauma/ emergency general surgery clinic • The trauma programs at Geisinger Medical Center and Geisinger NE are supported by surgical residency programs • Additional PI staff, outreach, and registry staff who facilitate patient care • Employed position with Geisinger Geisinger Wilkes Barre- Scranton, PA • Team includes ten + Critical Care Trauma Surgeons • Advanced Practitioners, PI staff, outreach, and registry staff who facilitate patient care • Busy trauma center with 30+ years of service covering 6 counties in northeast PA • Outstanding opportunity for another member to join our team in providing care to patients in the NEPA in all three facets of Acute Care Surgery. • Opportunity to get become involved in resident and medical student education with the potential for an academic appointment at the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine commensurate with your experience. • Geisinger’s Northeast Pennsylvania Trauma department is seeking a BE/BC Critical Care Trauma Surgeons to join their newly state verified Level I Trauma Centers located in Wilkes-Barre & Scranton, Pennsylvania. Geisinger Medical Center- Danville PA • Team includes Board Certified Critical Care Trauma Surgeons and a team of Advanced Practitioners, RN/BSN nurse coordinators, PI staff, outreach, and registry staff who facilitate patient care • Approximately 2500 cases a year, 4 % penetrating • Our department offers education and research opportunities with Geisinger’s general surgery residency program, including 27 residents • Dedicated OR Time and Dedicated Trauma ICU • Geisinger Medical Center covers over a 100 mile radius in Central Pennsylvania Living in Pennsylvania Geisinger fosters an atmosphere of clinical excellence while offering safe neighborhoods, affordable housing, and natural beauty of central and north eastern Pennsylvania.
