BE/BC general surgeon with critical care in Northern IN Active ATLS certification and trauma/acute care surgery experience needed to join our team. The practice setting is the only regional American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma verified level II trauma center. High quality trauma care is given through a collaborative working relationship with the emergency medicine, intensivist, and hospitalist teams. Opportunity offers the ability to establish your own general surgery practice with dedicated OR time while sharing trauma responsibilities with other colleagues. Trauma call is approximately 6-7 shifts per month affording a great work life balance. South Bend, the 4th largest city in Indiana with 170,000 residents, is located in St. Joseph County, 10 miles south of the Indiana-Michigan state line and 90 miles east of Chicago.  The city sits on the St. Joseph River and is just 35 miles from the beaches of Lake Michigan.  A ninety minute drive via Interstate 80/90 will get you to Chicago, or if you prefer, commuter train service is available at South Bend Regional Airport with stops throughout northern Indiana and ending at Millennium Station in downtown Chicago.  South Bend offers direct flights to Atlanta, Chicago/O’Hare, Cleveland, Detroit and Minneapolis.  Allegiant Air also offers once a week nonstop flights to Las Vegas, Phoenix/Mesa and Orlando/Sanford, Punta Gorda and St Petersburg, FL.
