Qualifications Required Basic Requirements: Must be proficient in written and spoken English. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Residency. Completion of residency in plastic surgery Board Certification. Board certified/eligible in plastic surgery Basic Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certifications Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Hand Surgery Other Requirements: · Must have credentials to qualify as an Assistant or Associate Professor level appointment in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Reference: VA Regulations, specifically VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G-2 Physician Qualification Standard. This can be found in the local Human Resources Office. Note: Only education or degrees recognized by the U.S. Department of Education from accredited colleges, universities, schools, or institutions may be used to qualify for Federal employment. If you are using foreign education to meet qualification requirements, you must send a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with your transcript in order to receive credit for that education. Physical Requirements: Moderate lifting (15-44 lbs); moderate carrying (15-44 lbs); reaching over shoulders; use of fingers; both hands required; walking (up to 4 hours); standing (up to 8 hours); repeated bending (up to 4 hours); both legs required; ability for rapid mental and muscuar coordination simultaneously; far vision correctable in one eye to 20/50 and to 20/40 in the other; near vision correctable at 13" to 16" to Jaeger 1 to 4; both eyes required; ability to distinguish basic colors; ability to distinguish shades of color; hearing (aid permitted).
