Additional training in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology or current work experience that demonstrates proficiency in the anesthetic management of children with congenital heart disease is desirable. The Division of Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology at McGovern Medical School has the approval to expand its dedicated Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology service line with TWO additional full-time positions. Job Description: Our existing team of Five cardiac anesthesiologists actively collaborate with the Children's Heart Center at Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital, located in the heart of the Texas Medical Center, Houston. We play a central role in coordinating a best-practice, team-based approach to achieve successful perioperative outcomes in children undergoing cardiac and non-cardiac surgeries. The Heart Center caters to a wide range of congenital heart conditions. It is one of the unique Heart Centers within Texas to offer biventricular repairs, conversion, and ventricular recruitment strategies for patients with complex CHD. With a dedicated 30 bed Heart Center ICU, the Heart Center features the state of the art care, the knowledge, and experience to provide these advanced treatment options. The Heart Center at Children's Memorial Hermann has greatly expanded its referral base in the last few years. It receives referrals from the UT Physicians Clinics across Greater Houston area, Fetal Centers at CMHH and Women's Hospital, the Level IV Neonatal ICU located at CMMH, the majority of NICUs staffed by Memorial Hermann in Houston and NICUs located at Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital and UTMB Galveston, as well as other regional hospitals.
