Sleep Medicine Physician (Assistant or Associate Professor) Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine The Organization: The University of Virginia Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care is a full-service program which is continuing its focus on expanding its critical care and sleep programs to meet the increasing clinical and educational opportunities. Currently, the Division has 15 faculty members practicing at their main teaching hospital and surrounding clinics. The overall mission of their program is to provide outstanding clinical care to our patients and in so doing, to simultaneously accomplish superb clinical and research training to students, residents and fellows in the area of pulmonary, sleep and critical care medicine. The Opportunity: Due to continued growth, the Division is seeking an accomplished physician at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor with a specialty in Sleep Medicine. The incumbent will fulfill clinical, teaching and research duties in the Sleep Disorders Center and in the outpatient clinic. Candidates will also have opportunities to attend on the Pulmonary Consult Service and in the Medical Intensive Care Unit. Rank and compensation are contingent upon qualifications, experience and scholarly achievement. The Candidate: The Candidate must have a MD or equivalent, be board-certified in Internal Medicine, and be board-certified or board-eligible in Pulmonary/Critical Care and Sleep Medicine by appointment start date and have a commitment to clinical excellence and teaching. A strong academic interest and/or previous experience in the comprehensive management of sleep disorders is required.
