Job Description
Coordinate, provide oversight and responsible for psychiatry residency program. DME ensures compliance with the American Osteopathic Association Basic Documents and the AOA approved psychiatry standards. DME is responsible for the appointment and supervision of the psychiatry residency program director. DME ensures the completion of all evaluations, quarterly meetings and requirements of the residency program. DME manages all applicable affiliation agreements, documents and correspondence related to the residency program. DME is responsible to prepare and update as needed the Institutional Core Competency Plan and manage the mid-cycle Internal Review process. The DME is to ensure information about the psychiatry residency program is annually prepared and presented to the Ozark Center Board members, with a copy to the Osteopathic Postdocotral Training Institution (OPTI). Copies of the annual review/report should be available for on-site reviews. The annual report should review the activities of the Medical Education Committee and residency program. The DME will annually attend (or designate the program director to attend) an American Osteopathic Director of Medical Education or AOA DME conference for educational faculty development. DME will represent Ozark Center on the OPTI Board and OPTI Osteopathic Graduate Medical Education committee. DME will review faculty interview forms annually and make appropriate recommendations regarding re-appointment to GMEC annually. The DME will review initial requests for teaching appointments and make appropriate recommendations to GMEC. The DME will ensure representation at OSU-COM, ATSU-COM and KCUMB-COM Hospital Days each year. Requirements of position would be a graduate of a Commission of Osteopathic College of Accreditation - approved College of Medicine; AOA board certification or within three (3) years (if board certified by the ABMS - through a recognized AOA pathway; member in good standing of both AOA and AOMDE; minimum three (3) years of practice experience; minimum three (3) year experience as teaching faculty member in an OGME program or college of osteopathic medicine; meet the continuing medical education requirements of the AOA; maintain an active and unrestricted medical license in the State of Missouri; have a passion for physician education; strong organization skills and a basic understanding of health care budget processes. The DME will report directly to the Executive Director of Ozark Center.
