Job Description

Community Behavioral Health (CBH), part of Philadelphia’s award winning Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS), is actively recruiting for a Psychiatrist/Physician Advisor. In this highly visible position, the successful candidate will provide leadership and consultation to our care management teams, review and authorize inpatient, BHRS services, and residential level of care, participate in quality management activities, and ensure appropriate coordination of care, as needed, with physical health managed care organizations. Primary Responsibilities: •Participates in clinical management team meetings. •Provides consultation to clinical care managers. •Performs utilization review and assesses for medical necessity of services •Conducts physician peer reviews with provider physicians. •Conducts quality management clinical case reviews. •Participates in grievance and complaint review and hearing process. •Serves as physician liaison to physical health MCOs. Qualifications: •Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with unrestricted medical licensure in Pennsylvania. •A minimum of five (5) years experience in adult psychiatry is required. •Satisfactory completion of an ACGME accredited general psychiatry residency program. •An American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology diplomate in General Psychiatry. •Previous experience with the Medical Assistance population and/or vulnerable populations. •Must have an original, current, valid and acceptable PA Child Abuse History Clearance, or obtain one within two months of hire. This is a full time position at 37.5 hours per week, with a liberal benefit package including a 403(b) plan and fully paid malpractice coverage. Part time applicants will also be considered.
