Physician – Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine Children’s Hospital Los Angeles University of Southern California The Division of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles seeks an outstanding Physician specializing in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine for a full time academic appointment. The primary responsibility will be patient care with an expectation to participate in both teaching and clinical research. CHLA is one of the largest tertiary care centers for children in Southern California. Our new 'state-of-the-art' 317-bed freestanding hospital building with 85% private rooms opened July 2011. Our Department has an excellent mix of academic and private practice. Both clinical and basic science research opportunities are available and supported. The Division of Rehabilitative Medicine offers full-spectrum inpatient and outpatient services to help children and adolescents with a wide range of disorders regain as much function as possible while achieving a sense of independence and well-being. The successful candidate will work with our growing Pediatric Rehabilitation Program at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Additionally, this position includes clinical work in outreach locations and clinics with other division (oncology, ortho and neurology). Duties will include: Evaluation and treatment of children with developmental disabilities, spina bifida, and neuromuscular diseases Treatment of spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries, brain and spinal cord tumors, rheumatologic patients and various other neurological illnesses. Evaluation and management of cerebral palsy Administration of Botox and management of intrathecal baclofen for spasticity management The successful candidate will receive academic appointment at the USC Keck School of Medicine appropriate to level of training and experience.
