THE OPPORTUNITY This opportunity to join the Department of Pediatrics at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at the rank of Assistant Professor in Genetic Counseling is an exciting one. Columbia University Irving Medical Center, one of the nation’s foremost academic health science center’s working together with one of the nation’s premier health systems, New York-Presbyterian Hospital. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES · Prepare for patient appointments, including medical record review. · Assist with clinical consultations, draft consultation notes and patient result letters · Complete lab requisition forms. · Coordinate patient and/or family genetic testing · Coordinate specimen send outs and results notifications · Attend weekly case conference meetings · Participate in specialty clinics, as requested · Supervise medical students, rotating residents and genetic counseling students · Assist with the orientation of Genetics fellows COMMITMENT OF DIVERSITY Columbia University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer and Educator.
