The Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) division of the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Emergency Medicine at NYU School of Medicine is actively seeking BC/BE pediatricians to join our expanding pediatric emergency medicine programs in Brooklyn.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with our academic PEM group at NYUMC and our emergency medicine colleagues at NYU Cobble Hill and NYU Lutheran to bring pediatric expertise to our community sites in Brooklyn. NYU Cobble Hill is a free-standing emergency department with about 18,000 visits per year, 20-25% of which are children. NYU Lutheran is an established community teaching hospital in Sunset Park, Brooklyn that will be completely merged with NYU Langone Medical Center in January 2016. The NYU Lutheran ED staff currently includes a group of pediatricians who care for about 13,000 children per year.

The practice model will include PEM and pediatricians with a PEM BC/BE site director at each of the two Brooklyn sites. Pediatricians will receive additional training in resuscitation/critical care, procedures (such as suturing) and sedation. Program development at both sites will include faculty development, establishing a quality/safety program, multidisciplinary collaboration to create and implement family centered evidence-based clinical practices and developing relationships with pediatric programs and practices in the neighboring Cobble Hill and Lutheran communities. 

In addition to clinical responsibilities at NYU Cobble Hill or Lutheran, the successful candidate will be an integral part of a robust academic PEM division at NYU School of Medicine that includes a well-established fellowship with strong scholarly programs in education, ultrasound and simulation.
