Job Description FACULTY POSITION DEPARTMENT OF SURGERY, DIVISION OF PEDIATRIC SURGERY UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND SCHOOL OF MEDICINE The University of Maryland School of Medicine seeks candidates to join the Division of Pediatric Surgery. Candidates should be Board Certified or Board Eligible, and be qualified to be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor or above. Responsibilities will include clinical care of pediatric surgery patients, education of students, residents, and fellows, and participation in research programs. Responsibilities will include clinical activity at the University of Maryland Children's Hospital, and other regional locations. Opportunities, and support for basic and clinical research are available for appropriate candidates. Preference will be given to candidates with research experience or potential, and to those with potential for external funding in areas that support the advancement of pediatric surgery. The University of Maryland Children's Hospital is a full service 106 bed Children's Hospital, within the University of Maryland Medical Center. The Level 3C NICU has 48 beds, and the PICU 20 beds. The Division of Pediatric Surgery has 6 faculty members with diverse clinical and research interests, and experience. The School of Medicine is located in downtown Baltimore, Maryland, near the famous Inner Harbor, and Camden Yards.
