Position Summary: The Clinical Lab Scientist II performs a range of standard and/or technically demanding procedures in one or more of the Clinical Laboratory disciplines exercising initiative and independent judgment. Communicates technical or general information to their manager, director, & medical staff. May provide instruction in the basic theory, technical skills and applications of laboratory test procedures. Provides expertise and serves as a technical resource for Technicians. The CLS II functions as a licensed staff member performing duties approved by California Business and Professions Code, CLIA and other regulatory agencies. Minimum Qualifications: 2 to 5 years of relevant clinical experience with at least 1 year in the area of specialty. Must have a computer skills such as Microsoft office; able to sort, filter, query and analyzing data. Self-discipline; able to follow schedule and be flexible of section needs. Must be able to work independently and have experience performing testing in a high-volume laboratory. Education/Licensure/Certifications: Valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License required. Bachelor's degree in biology or related science required. ASCP Board of Registry certification as Medical Technologist, or other specialty preferred.
