Position Summary: The Clinical Lab Scientist II performs a range of standard and/or technically demanding procedures for the Blood Bank. The CLS II will perform routine and complex immunohematology tests, modify and issues blood components. Will communicates technical or general information to their manager, director, & medical staff. May provide instruction in the basic theory, technical skills and applications of laboratory test procedures. Provides expertise and serves as a technical resource for Technicians. The CLS II functions as a licensed staff member performing duties approved by California Business and Professions Code, CLIA and other regulatory agencies. Minimum Qualifications: 2 to 5 years of relevant clinical experience with at least 1 year in the area of specialty. Must be able to work on evenings and weekends. Education/Licensure/Certifications: Bachelor's degree in biology or related science required. Valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License required. ASCP Board of Registry certification as Medical Technologist, or other specialty preferred.
