Baker County's only ophthalmologist is nearing retirement and is seeking a board certified or eligible ophthalmologist to take over care of the 35,000 people in the surrounding area. We have an excellent reputation in the local community. Our office has 5,000 square feet with three eye lanes and room for two additional lanes. An independent optical shop shares the same building. There is a minor surgical room. Equipment includes an Optos wide angle fungus camera, Zeiss OCT, IOL Master, Zeiss Visual Field Analyzer, Atlas corneal topographer, Zeiss YAG and green lasers, operating microscope, and Retinomax auto refractors/keratometers in exam rooms connected to the refractors and lensometers. You can expect 300+cataract surgeries each year, which are performed at St. Alphonsus Medical Center, Baker City, next door. Eastern Oregon is cattle country with lots of wide open spaces. The Elkhorn and Wallowa Mountains are in our back yard. Skiing at Anthony Lakes is 25 miles away. Popular outdoor activities include hunting, fishing, bicycle and motorcycle riding, and golf. The Powder River runs through town and the Snake River is 40 miles away. You can run in the ruts of the Oregon Trail at the local Oregon Trail Interpretive Center. Financial arrangements are negotiable but will lead to ownership of the clinic with a larger than average income. Emergency call is extremely easy.
