The Department of Medicine at the University at Buffalo (UB), Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (JSMBS), Division of Nephrology, is actively recruiting candidates to apply for the position of Division Chief of Nephrology. As Division Chief of Nephrology of UB's Department of Medicine, he/she will: •Recruit and mentor academically outstanding faculty members •Grow multidisciplinary clinical programs •Oversee education of medical students, residents, and fellows in Nephrology •Expand research activities of the Division The Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences is expanding research programs and looks to the next Division Chief of Nephrology: •To advance scholarly activity within the division •To build an extramurally funded research program in basic, translational, or clinical research •To expand clinical trials within the Division and with our clinical partners As a clinical leader in UBMD Internal Medicine, he/she will work with the administrative and physician leaders of UB's affiliated hospitals on operations improvement, program and facilities development, quality/safety, and strategic planning. Preferred Qualifications: •MD, DO or MD/PhD •B/C Nephrology •Eligible for NY State license •A sustained record of academic accomplishment, including management experience within an academic medical center. •A funded research program in basic, translational, or clinical research •A national reputation for leadership in Nephrology.
