Overview POSITION SUMMARY: The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria is seeking Neonatologists for a positions of Clinical Pediatrics/Physician Surgeon to join 2 BC Neonatologists. The position requires 3 years of residency and 3 years of neonatology fellowship. The ideal candidate will be BC in neonatology; BC in pediatrics is desirable; and will hold or be eligible for an Illinois physician license. The position includes inpatient services and opportunities to quality improvement/research initiatives. The main facility is an affiliate of the OSF Healthcare Children’s Hospital of Illinois located in Urbana, Illinois (OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center). This facility is a Level II+ NICU with nearly 600 deliveries/year. The ancillary facility is in Danville, IL (OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center) and is a level 2 facility with nearly 650 deliveries/year. Both facilities are staffed with Advance Practice Nurses. We are a part of the Vermont-Oxford Network and strenuous efforts to improve quality and safety are ingrained in our culture. We offer the educational support of a large academic medical center in a family-oriented community. We are looking for a medical director to lead this group and oversee both facilities. Call is from home. A full time position is 10 shifts per month. Responsibilities 1. Proven acute and ongoing consultative care to neonatal children with problems in the hospital and outpatient setting. 5. Handle administrative duties as medical director. Required Qualifications 3 years residency 3 years neonatal fellowship Board certification in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Illinois Physician License Minimum 2 years of experience REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Doctorate Licenses/Certifications: Physician Licensed to practice medicine in current state. Board certified or board eligible in the appropriate specialty(ies). Obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges. Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal heath programs. Physician shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage. Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable. 2. Participate in continuing education programs of the Department of Pediatrics.
3. Participate in collaborative QI/research activities of the Division and Department.
4. Perform other duties of a University faculty member including committee assignments, curriculum development and student counseling.
