POSITION SUMMARY The Internist serves as a member of the TLC provider team providing primary health care services to the adult patients of the organization. The Internist deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Additionally, the Internist provides consultation to other members of the health care delivery staff. Internists shall be qualified to serve on the active Medical Staff of hospitals utilized by TLC to provide inpatient services, assume “on call” after hours duties and supervise staff nurse practitioners and physician assistants as appropriate. This position reports to the Department Head of Adult Medicine. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education *Graduate of an accredited school of medicine with a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy *Successful completion of an approved residency program *Current license to practice medicine in the State of Maryland with unrestricted prescription privileges and current Controlled Dangerous Substances and Drug Enforcement Agency Number *Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine *No history of Medicare or Medicaid fraud
