Job Description
The University of Nevada School of Medicine Division of Gastroenterology in Las Vegas, Nevada is seeking several gastroenterology faculty to join a young division. Leadership positions available include Section Chief, and Fellowship Director. The successful candidate will join a growing division that offers a comprehensive mix of inpatient and ambulatory teaching experiences for fellows, residents, and medical students. Supervision and teaching trainees in the clinical setting, during didactics, and mentorship are integral to the academic mission of the division. The gastroenterology fellowship trains two fellows per year. The Internal Medicine residency program is responsible for training approximately 72 residents and has an excellent track record with Internal Medicine board pass rates. The candidate will also be expected to contribute to the development of scholarly activities. This will include mentoring fellows and residents on investigator-initiated projects and case reports. Qualified candidates interested in research will have opportunities for collaboration within the school and partnering institutions. Requirements: The successful candidate is expected to have an M.D. or D.O. degree, or equivalent and completion of an Internal Medicine Residency Program from an ACGME accredited institution. Gastrointestinal fellowship completion prior to start date. The candidate must be BC or BE in Gastroenterology prior to employment commencing. If the candidate is board eligible must have the ability to obtain certification within two (2) years of completing fellowship. Must be eligible for an unrestricted Nevada medical license, malpractice coverage and meet credentialing requirements and must be able to obtain privileges at University Medical Center (UMC) and other site locations as needed.
