Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Pediatrics Pediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology The Section of Diabetes and Endocrinology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center is seeking M.D. candidates at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor levels to join the section. Required qualifications for the persons filling these positions include specialty training and Board eligibility or certification in Pediatric Diabetes/Endocrinology, with clinical appointment to the Oklahoma Children’s Hospital OU Health. A special interest in obesity, body composition, energy metabolism, or diabetes preferable for applicants with a research focus. Responsibilities include patient care and supervision and teaching of students and residents, alongside any clinical or basic science research that could be associated with the section’s Pediatric Metabolic Research Program as well as the OU Health Harold Hamm Diabetes Center. The combined academic section and OU Health-based clinic currently employs over 50 persons, including 7 M.D. faculty, 3 PhD researchers, 1 PharmD, 2 nurse practitioners, and a team of diabetes and endocrine educators, and has an annual NIH research budget of more than $1.5M. Rank and salary are commensurate with experience and training. Endowed Chairs in the section are available for exceptional candidates. Located in the OU Children’s Physicians building of Oklahoma, the Department of Pediatrics is a full-service multispecialty department with 16 sections and approximately 200 faculty members. The faculty constitutes the principal medical and research staff of Oklahoma Children’s Hospital OU Health and shares a common commitment to the well-being of the state’s children as well as providing a quality education to trainees.
