Southern Medical Group, P.A. (SMG), Tallahassee, FL, seeks non-invasive, non-interventional general cardiologist to be a part of an exceptional opportunity. Successful candidate will be fellowship trained with extensive experience in all aspects of inpatient/outpatient general cardiology with imaging and heart failure preferred. This is a new position and is not replacing a retiring physician. SMG Cardiology Division is a progressive, well-established integrated practice composed of fifteen cardiologists (four interventionalists, four electrophysiologists, five general/imaging as well as Heart Failure specialist) with a successful Internal Medicine/Family Medicine Program. SMG is affiliated with Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (tmh.org) through a Professional Service Agreement in addition to the Cardiology Division holding an exclusive cardiac comanagement contract at TMH. Non-invasive cardiologists have a full range of diagnostic capabilities with nuclear imaging, CT angiography, and cardiac MRI. Diagnostic services support the structural valve clinic and atrial fibrillation clinic. Our office also has a vein clinic and diagnostic services for peripheral vascular and carotid disease management. On January 1, 2017, Cardiology expanded to include Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery welcoming three colleagues and recruiting a fourth in September, 2018. We are active in research and education and own and operate a well-developed, independent clinical research institute (Tallahassee Research Institute), which has participated in over 100 clinical trials in the past decade and is active in multiple new device and pharmaceutical studies. SMG physicians also serve on faculty at the Florida State University College of Medicine and as preceptors with the FSU College of Medicine Internal Medicine Residency Program, TMH Family Practice Residency Programs and the Florida A & M School of Pharmacy. Job Requirements: -Practice to be general cardiology office to include hospital coverage with admitting and consulting privileges at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare. -Establishes relationship with referring physicians in the community and hospital. -Board Certification/Board eligible in Cardiovascular Disease. -Participation in medical outreach. -Call responsibility approximately 1:6 weekends to include hospital consults and cardiology coverage.
